About Us

Fleury Sheep and Wool LLC is a family owned and operated small scale fiber mill. We are also the proud owners of a small but growing flock of Shetland Sheep. We are located in picturesque Clarkesville GA, with the mill operation in town, and the sheep comfortably grazing several miles out in the countryside. We began our Shetland flock with five animals several years ago, and are also home to several Corriedale crosses, Angora goats, and Llamas. We've been known to harbor few Guinea fowl and a chicken or so as well.

We began planning our foray into the world of fiber in 2005, which quickly became a plan for a small scale fiber mill.

Jennifer has an extensive history of hand spinning, knitting crocheting, and sewing. Click here for a look at some of Jennifer's projects, as well as some of our farm pictures (many many pages). Jared spent most of his schooling at a Rudolph Steiner School, all of which carry an emphasis on arts and hand crafting (The potato/stick drop spindle is in about 2nd grade). He's gone from that to re-piling and repairing oriental carpets to spinning and knitting the occasional hat. He likes the smell of lanolin.

We have settled on the Old Clarkesville Mill as an ideal setting in which to set up shop. As a former textile mill it seems particularly appropriate that we should breathe some of that life back into the old brick building. As a host to numerous other businesses from a radio station to an antique mall to a bowling alley, it seems a perfectly eclectic spot to throw a wool processing mill into the mix.

We are situated in Northeast Georgia, near North and South Carolina and as such are well placed to provide local milling services to the entire southeast.

We are committed to providing top quality processing in a timely manner accompanied by excellent customer service.

Why choose us for your milling needs? As shepherds ourselves, we are intimately familiar with the unique bonds you develop with your various animals. We want each of our special fleeces to be treated with individual respect and care and we will treat yours with the same care. As spinners and knitters we understand the qualities you are looking for in a particular roving or yarn. As small business owners and farmers ourselves we are dedicated helping others in our field find ways to succeed. Our machines are top quality and capable of handling a wide variety of fiber, and finally- We love animal fiber!
